“I have never had the chance to celebrate Eating Disorders Awareness Week by reaching across the whole state to spread awareness. I love the idea of having so many people be able to see how eating disorders can affect anyone, no matter their age, gender, or background. Sharing my story allows people to see that anyone can be affected by an eating disorder. My hope is that by sharing my history, I can help someone to see that there is hope of recovery even in these tough times.” |
Audrianna Hebron is a junior at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She is an Exercise and Movement Science Major working towards a career as a Physician Assistant. Originally from St. Louis, Audrianna plays tennis, dances, and loves to cheer on the St. Louis Blues when she isn’t busy studying. She also loves to spend her time helping at the Kirsten Haglund Foundation as a volunteer intern where she helps organize events to help raise funds for eating disorder treatment scholarships.
Audrianna has struggled with many health issues throughout her life. When she was eight, she was diagnosed with obesity; then at age 14, she was treated for anorexia. She was treated at an outpatient care facility and was officially released in Maya of 2015. It was during this time in her life that she started competing in the Miss America Organization. This is where she found her passion for spreading awareness of living a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Since then, she has held 3 local Teen titles and 3 local Miss titles. This summer, she is looking forward to representing her hometown at Miss Missouri as Miss Fleur de Lis. She is so excited to be an ambassador for the Missouri Eating Disorders Association and can’t wait to hit the ground running by sharing her story and spreading awareness and knowledge of eating disorders.
Audrianna’s thoughts on eating disorders and being an Ambassador for the Missouri Eating Disorders Association:
“I am so excited to be an ambassador for the Missouri Eating Disorders Association and share my story and spread awareness and knowledge of eating disorders. I don’t think a lot of people realize how impactful eating disorders can be, and it’s important to take this time to really focus on how we can reach out to those who are struggling. Sharing my story allows people to see that anyone can be affected by an eating disorder. My hope is that by sharing my history, I can help someone to see that there is hope of recovery even in these tough times.
